Barthel monster brazing lampen

Hallo forum here is my latest addition ready to be restored.

I won it on ebay it was a bargain at £XXXXX plus £XXX postage. Please no prices from ebay auctions here in this site Thanks Eugen J.keusen MOD

It is my 4th Deutsch lotlampen and the biggest Deutsch made lamp and the 2nd largest in my whole collection.

Hi Keusen many thanks, I have just got home and I am about to strip her down to carry out a full restoration job on it.

I am looking forward to seeing this old classic, looking great and working as good as it left the factory.

Ich need to replace the leather pump cup, I will order one from a guy from turkey who makes them.

Hi Eugen thank you I know the guy in turkey who makes them, he is well known on spirit burner another forum, his name is Sefaudi I buy all my pump leathers from him and they are far better than most original.

I am hoping he has this size available, it is much larger than any I have purchased

ICH have all ready started the restoration on it, so far it is going along great.

Hallo Holger danke for the compliement, I have a British version bigger I think I have posted it on here made by Monitor.

Monitor Al so made a version al most identical to the smaragdin/ Diamantin, Your Diamantin in the picture is awesome the power of it.

Hallo forum, just a little up date on the Barthel restoration.

During the restoration, I noticed there was a lot of wear and play in the gland nut where the regulator spindle passes through.
The wear was quite bad that the regulator spindle wobbled very badly in the gland nut, this would make it virtually impossible to re pack the gland nut with graphite tape, as it would squeeze out of the gap in the gland nut and causing a severe leak.

To repair this I used a piece of 1mm brass sheet, I drilled a 6mm hole in it so the spindle would pass through it tightly and silver soldered it to the gland nut, the pics will explain how I achieved this problem.

Hallo forum, today this evening I finished the restoration of the Barthel Smaragdin brazing blowtorch.

There are no pictures at the moment of it working I will buy some fuel and then fire it up and a video will be posted on youtube.
