I have a Geniol 829B which has an inner casing (#117) which differs from my other Petromax lamps. Can anyone enlighten me?
Different inner casing

that will be hard without an image

an image would be very nice.
I always thought that the inner casings looked always the same. -
Hi Chris,
I think, you are talking about the little mark to aviod placing the inner casing 180° to the wrong sinde.
Petromax-Lamps do not have it, the younger Geniol - licensebuilt lamps do have it.
It was an Idea to keep young and unqualified soldiers from smashing the vaporizer-needle, because often it happened after changing the mantle, that those scrubs replaced the inner casing to the wrong side.
Hope I got you right, best regards, Björn

Hope these help.

Hmm, I got you wrong.....
I think, this casing does not belong to a Geniol 829B originally.
Maybe to an Optimus-Lamp - surely someone else can tell you more about that.

unfortunatelly the picture is in a very bad quality so no details are visible.
Could you load up a better picture? -
I hope this picture is clearer.

Hi, Chris!
This inner casing belongs to an Optimus lantern (350, 550, 1350, 1550 and 1551). But it also fits in the big Geniol and Petromax lanterns.
