Man muss nicht immer löten! :-)

    Da es mich am Samstag irgendwie überkam und ich spontan das lang geplante Video von meiner ungebraucht gekauften BAT-1001 gedreht hab ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ_C9U69QUQ ) , hat es sich ergeben das die Kleine danach in der Küche rumstand und nach erneuter Beglotzung unter akuter Inkontinenz litt. Oha! Was, wie , woher?..und vorallem..Wem? :D Nach intensiver Begutachtung und rumgepuhle an der Substanz stellte sich herraus, das da ein winziges Löchelein unterm Lack ist. Also schnell mal die Reparaturknete vom Schrottversender raufgepappt und für untauglich befunden. Dann das Loch vorschriftsmässig erweitert um zu kucken von wegen was und wieso. Weitere Kneteapplikationen waren nicht von Erfolg gekrönt also das Hirn zermartert. Löten wollt ich nich, aber dem Lötlampe sollte dicht!
    Also am Montag auf der Arbeit etwas 5-Minuten Epoxy angrührt und zusammen mit etwas blauem "Elefantenklopapier" erstmal das Loch zugemacht und den Lack abgeschliffen am Boden. Dann das gute Giessharz angerührt und den Boden komplett ausgegossen. Aushärtung binnen 24 Std. ist bei dem Zeug ein frommer Wunsch also in Geduld geübt und am Mittwoch auch von innen noch was reingekleckert wegen der Statik..damits nicht von innen nach aussen drückt, sodnern von innen auf das Harz innen und dann außen..na wissen schon :)
    Nur mal nebenbei- benzinfest soll das Zeug ja sein- also ich bin mal zuversichtlich 8) .
    Drucktest hat die Lampi auch schon überstanden und aussen hab ich testweise etwas NL-Waschbenzin raufgepappt um zu schauen obs sich löst. Gefüllt wird noch nicht, das soll innen erstmal noch mehr aushärten..also so richtig, hart ist bei dem Epoxy erfahrungsgemäß noch nicht "ausgehärtet".
    Na, ich bin jedenfalls froh das das Loch wieder zu ist.. das ist wohl die Quintesszenz von diesem Beitrag :D


    Anbei noch ein paar harzige Fotos, ich hoffe man erkennt das Maß der Ausgiessung..

    Hi Mario is this post about the Bat 1001 with the leak at the base of the tank,
    Looking at 2nd picture ich can see a split at the seem.


    On the last picture it looks it has been repaired,has the repair been a sucsess.



    Ich am surprised there was a leak looking at the Bat 1001, in the first pic it looks in such gut condition,al the paint is gut and even the Bat decal/transfer is 100% perfect.
    Infact the Bat looks like it has not been used much.

    The blowtorch came unused and in a very good condition to me. The leak in the base was caused by remaining soldering flux on the inside. This stuff is corrosive and caused the little hole in the bottom. I put Expoxy in the whole base outside as you can see and also some inside. You can also see some blue tissue which i first attached on the metal sheet with some fast drying 5-Minute-Epoxy so that the slow-drying Epoxy won't leak through.
    Till now it seems very promising, but i haven't filled the blowtorch with gasoline, because i want to give the Epoxy on the inside some more time.. this stuff really needs some time- at least 24 hours to be somehow hard, but up to 72-96 hours to be fully cured.

    Hallo Mario ich forgot to mention it was lucky,The Bat did not leak split open while your were useing it in the video on youtube.


    AS with benzine fuel it is very volatile and easy to ignite.


    Ich was looking at the pics of the lotlampen ich am bidding on, on ebay you are 100% correct there are a few rust spots on it,hopefully i will win it if so ich will repaint it with the same colour, and paint finnish to prevent the rust spreading, but keep the Barthel decal/transfer on it, as that ist very important and would be a sin if it is damaged or removed.


    When you have finnished your Bat 1001 ,will you be repainting it or are you happy with the original as, it ist in gutt condition.

    it has been finished already when posting the pictures :) Why do more, it only had this little hole which is closed now and so everything is fine..
