Hi all
I dusted off this Coleman that arrived yesterday...Not very rare I know..but after all my polishing I had to show it to someone! :)...Came with origonal box ,papers etc..Fired it up and she is running perfect...Took it from the box as new/never used..

yes ...very rude of me...
Have been messing around with lanterns for some years now and started cleaning them all last week...(Now when I say all I mean 4 ..one full tube of Auto Sol gone (on brass parts only) as well as most of my finger prints
I got the bug bad...

Michael
Yes true..Im a little OTT when it comes to clean lanterns :)...your right tho a complete waste of time back to black in no time!
Hi! Why should you be going off-topic? This section is all about pressure lamps, so feel free to ask whatever you like to know.
It looks like the lantern has the same size like the 150HK Petromax or Geniol lanterns.
Where did you get it from?
It looks pretty interesting and like it´s brand new, is it unused or did you polish your hands off ?
Stefan
Hi Stefan
Thanks...I bought the lantern from Canada and it looks like it has not been used much... Didn't get to shine it up yet as its still in transit from Canada but looking forward to getting at all the brass bits...hard to find info on this make or what year it was made...As you said its very like the 150 petromax at 31cm in height..I hope to be able to find some kind of stamp somewhere on the lantern when it arrives....looks a nice little lantern!
There is a company in US/Can that sells outdoor equipment hiking/camping etc...i even found some River Trail mantles but no information on lantern..I would like to think that it was made in Canada...hopefully
Hi All
Apologies if im going off topic, has anyone got any info on this lantern.. "River Trail"

Bjorn

Sorry i missed your post..and thanks for the tips...I was guilty of not waiting the 90s for pre heating also...I gave it the full 90s this time and its running fine now Cheers
haha..Cheers..I would like to buy another lamp..if i could just think of a way to sneak it into the shed without the Boss lady noticing
Excellent
Thanks Bjorn ..Now that all my problems are fixed i dont know what to talk about!!!
Hi all
Ok #1 All initial problems solved and thank you
#2 This is not my only lamp..but my first Petromax
#3 No.2 is important in that everyone does not think im a complete idiot
#4 In my opinion Pelem mantles seem a little weak???Is there a stronger one that anyone would recommend.
I am 100% sure have followed all procedures correctly and now the lamp is working fine (Rapid heater was loose also)..But now i have mantle problems.
I let the rapid heater ignite the first mantle and closed rapid heater to leave the mantle finish burning..Started lamp and noticed a big hole at the end of mantle
Second mantle(First lit with a match) has now blowin a hole(without any starting explosions) where it meets the nozzle.
Thanks all
I will put my engineering skills to the test and report back on this gripping issue:D
