Does anyone know where I can find a glass globe to fit this lantern? It is a Primus 1050 glass dimensions roughly 138mm diameter x 128mm tall (high). I will post a picture soon, when i can work out how to do it.

Waaa! Why would needles keep breaking inside the jet/nozzle? i've broken 4 so far. Feeling upset because I cant buy these in my country. I have the length of the cleaning rod right I am sure! The needles work smoothly for a short time and show through the jet about 1mm and then suddenly the handle is not smooth to turn and it will break inside. I hope i have explained clearly enough.

Aida Express 1250. My rapid burner burns very large yellow flames, so large they come out the top of the lantern. I think this might make the glass break! I have seen some lanterns that burn a nice blue flame, can you tune/adjust the rapid burner?

Also is there a reason this lantern does not come with a preheater bowl? Thankyou.

My lantern is a Petromax 500 hk made in china. I have a couple of problems with this lantern.

Problem 1. The cleaning rod part #101 is off center/not in the middle of the generator, when the needle is in the up position it gets bent. What is the best way to fix this?

Problem 2. The rivet attached to the handle in top of the lantern frame has popped out and broken. I think this is poor manufacturing fault and cant be fixed by hammering it back in, there looks to be not enough metal holding the rivet on when pushed back on.

This is how I start my lantern which has same issue as yours (faulty seal at the fuel pickup). I start it with no pressure. Leave the screw undone on the fuel tank, turn the wheel to downwards/open position. Fill the spirit cup with alcohol and light it. When it boils and is almost finished tighten the fuel tank screw and give it about 10 strokes it should light up with a pop. After a minute or so pump it up to full pressure.

This way you should have no premature fuel fireballing out the top of your lantern

If you want to fix the valve its a fairly simple and quick.

I have some problems with my lantern. It has started to burn large yellow flames outside the mantle. I have changed the jet, new mantle checked the air gap. Is there something else I can try? I have no ideas left.

This lantern has been used alot in the past, do the generators/vaporisers wear out?
