    You are right Frank,
It DOES appear on the exploded view. I thought it was a metal sleeve of some sort. Now that I look at it, it IS the packing.

Teflon Tape... This is funny, I already used Teflon Tape as a kind of a Quick temporary fix thinking it was not correct, but I'm happy to see I was on the right track. I'll leave it with the Teflon with your blessing.

    Whaterver works, right?

    Thanks guys.

    Hi All!
I was recently testing my Petromax 500CP Rapid. It burned perfect for about one hour when I decided to shut it down.
As I was shutting it down, I noticed the valve wheel nut was slowly dripping kerosene onto the side of the fount. It had to have been leaking the whole time, I just didn't notice it. When I tightened the nut a bit, it became too tight to open the valve freely. However when I back off the nut just a bit, it starts leaking again.
Does this lanterns fuel valve use packing like a Coleman valve? I don't see anything in the exploded views online.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi All!
My UNIMET 500CP lantern just arrived in excellent condition.
I know nothing about it except it appears to be a Petromax Clone. Not QUITE as well built.
I'd like to know if anyone has any info on this lantern such as when UNIMET manufactured them, opinions on their quality, etc.

Also, I just purchased an unused Petromax 150 CP Brass lantern. It is a beauty, but I don't know what mantles I can use other than the ones that are sold for this size. Is there a difference? can a standard Petromax mantle be used on it, or even a standard Coleman Mantle? Or does it absolutely require a mantle made specifically for the 150 CP.
I'd appreciate your opinions on this.
    Thanks

    Oh, It's a 1500
I just received a new preheater and the correct mantles from READYLYT yesterday. I fired it up and was nearly BLINDED!!! This is the brightest lantern I've ever seen! Tested it for an hour and didn't have to pump. Didn't seem to lose any pressure the whole time!
One more Question though... Is it normal for the fount to get REAL warm to the touch?
I may get one of the heat shields from Britelyt to keep it cooler.

    Hi Everyone,
I just recently got my first AIDA and I love it! I have been a Coleman Quick-lite and AGM Ready Lite guy til now. It's like the difference between a single engine Prop airplane and a Lear Jet!
Anyway, I have looked for a clue as to how to date my AIDA and so far haven't seen anything helpful. Also, When did they stop manufacturing the AIDA, at least under that name.
    Thanks Much
