Flames !!!

    My lamp has worked perfectly until recently. I am getting flames coming out of the upper part of the carb. I am not sure what is causing this can anyone help !!!

    Try to find out, from where the flames are coming.
    From the needle? The thread of the needle? The connection between the carb and the coil in the upper part of the carb?

    They look like they are coming from the little nicks in the upper part of the carb. AS I was pumping whilst the preheater was on the mantle actually started to glow and a small flame was visible .
