UNIMET/PETROMAX 150CP Questions

    Hi All!
    My UNIMET 500CP lantern just arrived in excellent condition.
    I know nothing about it except it appears to be a Petromax Clone. Not QUITE as well built.
    I'd like to know if anyone has any info on this lantern such as when UNIMET manufactured them, opinions on their quality, etc.


    Also, I just purchased an unused Petromax 150 CP Brass lantern. It is a beauty, but I don't know what mantles I can use other than the ones that are sold for this size. Is there a difference? can a standard Petromax mantle be used on it, or even a standard Coleman Mantle? Or does it absolutely require a mantle made specifically for the 150 CP.
    I'd appreciate your opinions on this.

    Maybe you could try a coleman#21mantle (usually used in type 214latern) on your 150, i tried it myself the other way, worked pretty good...

    the #21 is a good option
    I think the #20 will be even better fit as its a 200cp mantle
    as for the unimet as far as I remember it was made in Hong Kong by Union Metal Works
    and most of them were clones of others like Petromax, Coleman and tilley
